Miami Dolphins starting center Michael Deiter is headed to injured reserve due to foot and quadriceps injuries, coach Brian Flores announced Friday.

Flores said Deiter sustained his injuries during Wednesday’s practice.

“He’s done a nice job,” Flores said of Deiter, per the Miami Herald. “It’s unfortunate. We have got to move on to the next player. It’s a tough loss.”

Deiter, 25, started all three games for the Dolphins (1-2) this season. He has made 35 appearances (18 starts) with Miami since the Dolphins selected him in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

Center/guard Greg Mancz is expected to replace Deiter and start against the visiting Indianapolis Colts (0-3) on Sunday.

Mancz, 29, entered the league with the Texans in 2015 as an undrafted free agent and spent six seasons in Houston, starting 28 of 58 games. The Dolphins acquired Mancz from the Baltimore Ravens on Aug. 28.
