Mets celebrate SP Walker Lockett’s first win with ‘eventful shower’

The New York Mets haven’t had much to celebrate this season, so when the opportunity came to enjoy a rookie pitcher’s first win at the MLB level, they did it in a special way.

All-Star first baseman Peter Alonso shared with reporters how the team celebrated rookie pitcher Walker Lockett’s first win with a shower that involved a laundry cart, beer, shaving cream, ketchup, mayonnaise and baby powder.

It would be an understatement to call it an odd celebration. While New York wasn’t going to use champagne, the mix of ketchup, mayo, shaving cream and beer is something quite different.

Of course, it might just be the best celebration they could create with whatever they had available in the clubhouse. They did the best to make a great celebration out of some pretty wacky combinations and, at the very least, the team could finally celebrate something this year.
