Matthew Stafford dealing with elbow pain and chronic back issue

The Los Angeles Rams got out to a red-hot start this season, but have scored just 26 points during their past two losses. Matthew Stafford threw two interceptions apiece in those games, causing many to question where his early-season MVP form went.

ESPN’s Dianna Russini might have an explanation for some of Stafford’s recent struggles. Apparently, Stafford is dealing with pain to his throwing arm, extending to his elbow, of which he wears a protective sleeve. He is also battling through a sore ankle as well as a chronic back issue.

Aside from the recent interceptions, Stafford has been sacked seven times in his past two games, after going down just seven times in his first eight contests. While the Rams were a popular Super Bowl pick early on, Stafford and the Rams have looked nothing like a contender during their past two weeks.

Hopefully Stafford can feel better after getting some rest during his Week 11 bye. The Rams take on the Green Bay Packers today at 4:25 PM EST.
