The Los Angeles Dodgers traded right-hander Dennis Santana to the Texas Rangers on Thursday in exchange for minor league left-hander Kelvin Bautista.

Santana, 25, was designated for assignment by the Dodgers on Saturday after compiling a 6.00 ERA in 16 relief appearances this season. He is 2-2 with a 6.42 ERA in 32 appearances with Los Angeles since 2018.

Bautista, 21, has not seen action in an official game since 2019. He is 3-1 with a 3.70 ERA in 32 relief appearances in the Dominican Summer League (2018-19) and Arizona League (2019).

To make room on the 40-man roster, Texas designated left-hander Hyeon-jong Yang for assignment. Yang was 0-3 with a 5.59 ERA in eight games (four starts) with the Rangers this season. The 33-year-old pitched in the Korean professional league from 2007-19, earning MVP honors in 2017.
