Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Max Muncy is not in the lineup Sunday for their game in Atlanta against the Braves.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts indicated Muncy might be available to pinch-hit on Sunday after spraining his right ankle running the bases Friday and missing Saturday’s game.

Albert Pujols will start at first base Sunday, hitting fourth.

Roberts told the Orange County Register that he’s “hopeful, not confident” Muncy will be ready to play by Tuesday, and added that if Muncy is not available by Wednesday the Dodgers would “have another conversation” about his status.

The 30-year-old Muncy is hitting .265 with 13 home runs and 30 RBIs in 55 games this season. A 2019 All-Star, he was leading the National League in walks (45) and on-base percentage (.424) entering Sunday’s games.
