A year after he was in the Los Angeles Dodgers lineup competing in the NLDS, former Dodgers’ outfielder Matt Kemp visited the team’s clubhouse on Thursday.
Kemp returned to the dugout where he spent the majority of his MLB career and even made it more special by wearing a Jackie Robinson jersey.
Los Angeles traded Kemp to the Cincinnati Reds in December after a 2018 season in which he posted a .290/.338/.481 slash line with 21 home runs and 85 RBI. He didn’t find that same success and was released by Cincinnati and the New York Mets this season.
While Kemp won’t get to play in the postseason this year, it’s great to see him back hanging out with some of his former teammates and ready to enjoy a playoff game at Dodger Stadium.
