As fans of the Minnesota Timberwolves and Denver Nuggets watch to see which team will head to the playoffs, one team back east is rooting hard for Minnesota.

Just check out the Atlanta Hawks’ Twitter account. It’s great.

Why would a team that finished its regular season with the second-worst record in the NBA care about a game in the Western Conference? Well, it’s pretty darn simple.

Back in 2014, Minnesota pulled off a trade with Atlanta that sent former first-round pick Adreian Payne to the Wolves for a first-round pick that was lottery protected from 2017-20. Given that a win on Wednesday would enable the Wolves to earn their first playoff appearance since the Kevin Garnett days, Atlanta has come to collect.

Though, the Twitter account is all sorts of brilliant. No real mention of a Hawks team that lost 58 regular season games. Instead, it’s all about the Wolves on the final day of the regular year.

Well done, Hawks social media. Well done, indeed.
