WATCH: Leonard Fournette breaks off 59-yard TD in return to action

Leonard Fournette

After missing three weeks with an ankle injury, Leonard Fournette finally got back into the swing of things as the starter for LSU.

And he did it in a big way when his team needed a huge boost, down 10-0 in the first quarter to Ole Miss Saturday night. Quarterback Danny Etling softened up the Rebels’ defense just enough with passing plays early, and then Fournette got his chance.

In the blink of an eye, the big back burst through the line of scrimmage. Fifty-nine yards later, the Tigers were in business with their first touchdown of the game.

With plenty of game time left, we’re hoping this was just a taste of what’s to come. Lord knows, given the way Ole Miss racks up points, LSU will likely need Fournette to continue dominating on the ground in this one.
