Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid is quickly becoming a darling of players and fans around the NBA world.
With a tremendous personality and an equally elite on-court game, Embiid has morphed into one of the faces of the NBA.
So it stands to reason that the actual face of the Association, LeBron James, might have a take on his younger counterpart.
“He’s good. He’s very good. Very talented. Multidimensional, can shoot the ball from the outside, can get to the post, footwork, up-and-unders, plays with a lot of energy, and he’s funny too. Very funny. Very funny guy,” James said, via NBC Sports Philadelphia’s Jessica Camerato.
There’s been some unconfirmed rumors that James might want to finish his career with the upstart Sixers. He’s set to become a free agent following this season and it’s not a foregone conclusion James will return to Cleveland.
These very positive words he threw in Embiid’s direction won’t quiet said rumors any time soon.
Embiid, 23, has his Sixers at 11-7 on the season. He’s averaging 22.4 points and 11.2 rebounds while shooting at a 50 percent clip.
Cleveland takes on Philadelphia Monday night. It promises to be a pretty entertaining affair.
