LeBron James and J.R. Smith both ended up on the court in the fourth quarter of Game 4 Friday night after colliding while chasing down a fast break.
The Golden State Warriors were desperately trying to come back in a game in which the Cleveland Cavaliers dominated from the very start. Cleveland answered with a big run every time Golden State started mounting a comeback.
The crowd was hyped. It was loud.
Then James and Smith collided as LeBron attempted a steal and it became about as quiet as a church during a moment of silence. Smith took the brunt of the hit, with his face getting impacted by James’ shoulder pretty hard. He ended up laying flat on his back, and it looked like he was having a bit of trouble breathing for a minute.
It was just a brutal hit, but thankfully both men were able to stand up under their own power.
The Cavs continued to hold off the charging Warriors, taking a double-digit lead into the final minutes of the game.
