Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James will miss Wednesday night’s game against the visiting Miami Heat with a non-COVID illness.

The Lakers also ruled out guard Lonnie Walker IV with left knee soreness.

James had been listed as questionable due to left ankle soreness before getting sick.

The Lakers just completed a five-game road trip, going 3-2. One of the losses was a 112-98 setback to the Heat last Wednesday in Miami.

James is averaging 29.0 points per game to go with 8.2 rebounds and 6.6 assists.

Walker is averaging 14.7 points per game in 32 starts this season.

The Lakers continue to be without big man Anthony Davis, though ESPN reported Wednesday that his recovery is going well and that Davis is “relatively pain-free.” Davis has begun running again with jumping coming next, per the report.

Davis sustained a stress injury in his foot on Dec. 16.
