Lakers offer up Brandon Ingram Lonzo Ball in talks for Anthony Davis

A report earlier on Wednesday indicated that the Los Angeles Lakers were among the teams currently engaged in trade talks with the New Orleans Pelicans for Anthony Davis.

Now comes some more information on this report. According to Marc Stein of the NY Times, Los Angeles has made Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram and the fourth pick in next week’s NBA Draft available in trade talks.

As stein notes, the Pelicans are looking to turn this into a three-team trade before giving up Davis.

That makes sense. New general manager David Griffin wants to build around star point guard Jrue Holiday, likely No. 1 pick Zion Williamson and whoever the Pelicans add in this trade.

Ball himself has indicated he would prefer not to be traded to the Pelicans. He’s also not really a fit with Holiday in New Orleans.

It remains to be seen if the Lakers would have to add Kyle Kuzma or other moving parts to get a trade done. But a trade could rely on it.

Expect Davis to be moved prior to the NBA Draft next week. As it is, the Lakers remain overwhelming favorites to land Davis.
