Kyler Murray is set to enter the 2019 NFL Draft and has made it clear he really does love football more than baseball.

Still signed with the Oakland Athletics, the two-way star could still ultimately end up playing pro baseball, but all signs point to him being selected in the first round of the draft and pursuing a football career.

When asked about Murray on Saturday, A’s executive vice president of baseball operations Billy Beane made it clear he has no regrets about selecting him with the No. 9 overall pick of the 2018 MLB Draft.

“I wouldn’t take that pick back for a second,” Beane said, per Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle. “We are still optimistic.”

Slusser added that Beane thinks Murray is a great kid and has a terrific future in baseball.

The A’s made a play to convince Murray to choose baseball over his football career before he declared for the NFL draft. But ultimately, it seems the young man is listening to his heart above all.
