Kyler Murray has bulked up to 206 pounds ahead of combine

One of the biggest issues teams are going to have with their evaluations of Heisman Trophy winner Kyler Murray is his size, or lack thereof. However, ahead of the 2019 NFL Scouting Combine, news has emerged that could alleviate some of that concern.

In his weekly column for Pro Football Talk, Peter King reports Murray has bulked up to 206 pounds ahead of the annual dog-and-pony show.

That’s up from his roughly 190-pound playing weight at Oklahoma last season. So, it’s a significant boost in muscle on his compact frame. The concern, of course, is that Murray could potentially have durability issues at the NFL level, given his stature.

However, at 5-foot-10 and 206 pounds, Murray wouldn’t be a heck of a lot smaller than Russell Wilson, who was 5-foot-11 and 204 pounds when he attended the combine in Indianapolis back in 2012. And despite taking a ton of hits in his career, Wilson has been durable.
