As Kyler Murray prepares for the 2019 NFL Scouting Combine, teams interested in potentially drafting him have concerns about his father.

Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported Tuesday morning that teams are also not sure if Murray truly is 100-percent committed to the NFL. They wonder if he’ll just want to fall back on baseball if he struggles or does not land a starting job.

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard whispers that teams are worried about Murray’s father, Kevin Murray, who has been described as a Lavar Ball-type of helicopter parent.

As Pelissero shared, his father is doing everything he can now to alleviate those concerns by saying it’s all on Kyler to make the decisions now, and that he’s all-in on football.

It’s going to be fascinating to hear about what teams think after they’ve gone through the interview process with Murray during the combine. The former Oklahoma quarterback is the player scouts are most excited about, but team brass will need to be sold on his dedication and maturity before buying the hype.
