Knicks rookie Kevin Knox puts team’s fans on blast

The New York Knicks now boast the NBA’s worst record following a 17th consecutive loss Monday night. The loss came to an equally bad Cleveland Cavaliers team and has New York in the midst of an historically bad stretch.

Hours before New York dropped its 30th game in 32 tries, rookie top-10 pick Kevin Knox put Knicks fans on absolute blast for hoping the team’s losing ways continue.

“Yeah, a lot of fans, they always say some dumb stuff,’’ Knox said, via the NY Post. “You see it all the time with the tanking and want us to lose, stuff like that. It’s kind of stupid. They’re not really true New Yorkers. Real Knicks fans know that we’re trying to just take this year to just develop us young guys and then next year hopefully make a push.”

The hope for some Knicks fans is that they lose enough games to acquire the No. 1 overall selection in the 2019 NBA Draft — picking up the human highlight reel that is Zion Williamson in the process.

However pie in the sky it might be, these same fans are dreaming of a day when Williamson teams up with impending free agents Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.

It really is a ridiculous premise. Given how bad the Knicks continue to be, why would any star player join this sinking ship? Going 2-30 in their past 32 games isn’t going to help matters. That’s pretty much Knox’s point here.
