Kevin Durant could take free-agent meetings in New York City

Impending free agent Kevin Durant has made it known several times that he can’t be recruited. This has led to speculation that he could follow LeBron James’ route from last summer and not take a single visit with a team.

The Athletic’s David Aldridge is here to throw some cold water on to that idea. The longtime NBA insider notes that Durant has not yet decided whether he’ll take visits. It he does, it will happen in New York City.

That’s where Durant plans on spending the offseason recovering from the ruptured Achilles he suffered in the NBA Finals.

Durant has long been linked to the New York Knicks. It’s reportedly his preferred landing spot.

Though, the Golden State Warriors are growing increasingly confident that he will re-sign with the five-time defending Western Conference champs. They can offer him $57 million more in guaranteed cash, that includes $50 million for what would be Durant’s age-35 season.

Among the other teams interested in Durant, the Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Clippers also seem like viable options.
