Report: Kareem Hunt suspension ‘might not be as long’ as expected

The NFL has yet to issue a ruling on disciplinary action against Cleveland Browns running back Kareem Hunt.

And according to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, when the league does come down with a verdict, it might not be as harsh a punishment as some people expect. In an article about how the Browns are shopping running back Duke Johnson, Cabot delved into how that decision ties into Hunt.

“They’ve also been waiting for word from the NFL office on the length of running back Kareem Hunt’s suspension, which will impact their decision. That announcement could come at any time, and the suspension might not be as long as some people expect considering Hunt sat out the last five games of last season after the Chiefs cut him.”

Essentially, she’s surmising that the NFL could count the five games Hunt missed after Kansas City cut him as time served.

The league is currently investigating three separate incidents in which Hunt is accused of assaulting others. The big one, of course, is the incident in a hotel early last year in which Hunt shoved and then kicked a woman while she was on the ground.
