Josh Norman on Panthers defensive woes: ‘I’m just gonna sip my tea’

Josh Norman

Josh Norman rightfully has a reason to taunt the Carolina Panthers after Julio Jones put up 300 yards on them during the game on Sunday.

Norman previously had been a decent enough foil for arguably the NFL’s best receiver. He was able to limit the damage that Jones had done by being perfect for the Panthers’ defensive scheme.

However, Julio torched Carolina on Sunday. The Panthers’ combination of Bene Benwikere, Daryl Worley and James Bradberry were not nearly good enough to stick with him. Norman used to stick with Julio and trail him all over the field.

When asked about the huge game by Jones against his old team, Norman gave a fantastic response.

Norman was made a free agent by the Panthers during the 2016 offseason because they didn’t want to acquiesce to his contract demands.

But sitting at 1-3 after getting torched by their biggest rivals in the NFC South could make them re-think their position on the contract they should have given him.

The Panthers should have just kept Norman on the roster via the franchise tag. Because right now, that defense looks like it has a supreme lack of talent at the cornerback position.

Norman should definitely sip his tea if Jones goes off again in the second matchup of the season on Christmas Eve in Charlotte.
