Josh Gordon active for Patriots in Week 4

Josh Gordon will make his New England Patriots debut in Week 4 when his new team hosts the Miami Dolphins at Gillette Stadium.

This is a pretty quick turnaround for a guy who was signed just a couple weeks back. It typically takes receivers a while to get immersed enough in New England’s playbook to make a big impact.

That being said, both offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels and head coach Bill Belichick have recently praised Gordon for his work getting prepared to do just that.

The Patriots certainly need Gordon to step up. They were absolutely incapable of getting anything going in the passing game last week against Detroit, and there’s a significant talent deficiency at the receiver position.

As we know, when he’s on the field Gordon can make a huge difference. Last year he caught 18 passes for 335 yards and a touchdown in five games. Back in 2013 he hauled in 87 passes for a league-leading 1,646 yards and caught nine touchdowns.
