Johnny Cueto is set to begin playing catch next week following Tommy John surgery last year, and when he does so he’ll be 20 pounds lighter.
The San Francisco Giants starter told reporters Thursday that he’s lost 20 pounds this offseason, thanks to a diet of fish and salad.
Cueto weighed 247 pounds when he started his rehab and is down to 227. Fish and salad. That’s your diet tip for today, people. 🐟 🥗

Salad and fish. Yep. That’ll do it.
The lighter frame should be a good thing for Cueto, who’s long been on the slightly pudgy side.
In other news, during Thursday’s media session, Cueto also divulged the cause of his beloved horse Popeye’s death — he ate poisonous grasshoppers.
