Joel Embiid (hand) cleared to return on Tuesday

Joel Embiid news

Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid will return to the court on Tuesday night following a nine-game absence after suffering a torn ligament in his left hand.

Embiid, who last played on Jan. 6, met with a specialist on Tuesday and received clearance to return to the court against the Golden State Warriors.

The return of the star center will be a huge boost for the 76ers. While Philadelphia is 7-3 in its last 10 games, the team currently sits at the No. 6 seed in the Eastern Conference.

In Embiid’s absence, All-Star guard Ben Simmons stepped up as a scorer and proved he could be more aggressive by driving to the basket. If he can maintain that style of play with Embiid and the All-Star center stays healthy, the 76ers could climb in the standings once again.
