A voice you don’t hear much in the Baltimore Ravens’ locker room is that of quarterback Joe Flacco. Quiet, and often times referred to as boring, Flacco spoke up during halftime when the Ravens were falling behind to the Cleveland Browns in a must-win game on Sunday.
An unusually fired up Flacco pumped up a Ravens locker room with these inspiring words.
Let’s go win a [flipping] game. [Fudge]!
Taking Flacco’s big words seriously, wide receiver Torrey Smith defended his quarterback.
Y’all act like Joe is the most boring guy in the world, man. He has some fire to him. You can’t expect anything long from Joe, but the delivery was powerful.
Even head coach John Harbaugh commented on Flacco’s moving speech.
I probably can’t remember a time he has ever done it before. He has said some things before, but I was glad to hear it. He said it better than I did.
Flacco’s two boring statements worked, as the team pulled off a win and a spot in the playoffs. Flacco went to town, completing eight of nine passes resulting in 161 yards and two touchdowns in the fourth quarter. As a result of a pepped up Flacco-inspired team, the Ravens will compete in a wild card playoff matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers this Saturday.
