Jets to open season with 9,000-pound bowl of…guacamole

Jets

We’ve seen some crazy partnerships around the sports world in recent years. None of them compare to what the New York Jets announced prior to their season opener against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.

The Jets have partnered with Avocados from Peru and will kick off said partnership by providing the largest guacamole bowl in world history to fans during the game.

“Avocados from Peru will provide a very unique experience for our fans at MetLife Stadium,” said Ian Lasher, New York Jets SVP, Corporate Partnerships, via the team’s official website. “We enjoy partnering with brands that offer fun and different elements on gameday for our fans to partake in.”

According to the release, the record-breaking bowl will weigh in at over 9,000 pounds. The record will also be verified by the World Avocado Association, which is apparently something that exists.

No word yet on if Avocado Toast will be available for the millennials.
