Cowboys general manager Jerry Jones said Terence Steele will start at right tackle Sunday when the Cowboys visit the Los Angeles Chargers.

Steele, 24, started 14 of 16 games last season as an undrafted rookie out of Texas Tech.

“He’ll do a good job out there. We’ll give him a lot of help,” Jones said Tuesday morning during an appearance on 105.3 FM The Fan.

Jones confirmed that La’el Collins, who started at right tackle in the season-opening loss at Tampa Bay, will not play as he fights a five-game suspension handed down Friday by the NFL.

Collins, 28, was suspended for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.

Jones also said kicker Greg Zuerlein, who missed two field goals and an extra point in the 31-29 loss against the Buccaneers, is dealing with a quad injury.

The Cowboys reportedly signed kicker Lirim Hajrullahu to the practice squad on Monday. He was with Dallas for part of the preseason.
