Despite uncertainty about what is next in his professional career, soon-to-be free agent Jameis Winston is using his influence and finances to help support his hometown.

Per Fox 6 News in Birmingham, Winston is donating $100,000 to schools in his hometown — Hueytown Middle and High School — to support their football and baseball programs

As noted by Greg Auman of The Athletic, this isn’t the first large donation from Winston recently, as he gave $50,000 to Miles College in Fairfield, Alabama recently as well.

Winston gets a lot of flack for his decision-making on the field.

But clearly, he’s making excellent decisions these days off it. And in the process, Winston is impacting the lives of many young people who will have a better opportunity to succeed due to his influence.
