Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is apparently making progress from a sprained left ankle but during Wednesday’s walkthrough he still split the first-team practice reps with Gardner Minshew II.

Hurts was injured on Nov. 28 and missed the following game against the New York Jets before the Eagles’ bye last week. But whether he will be healthy for this Sunday’s game crucial contest against the Washington Football Team is uncertain.

The Eagles and Washington are both 6-7 entering Sunday’s game in Philadelphia.

“I don’t know exactly what’s going to happen,” Philadelphia coach Nick Sirianni said of the splitting of the reps. “You want to make sure that you’re covered if one guy can’t play. So that’s it.”

The Eagles listed Hurts as a limited participant on Wednesday.

Minshew was impressive during his Week 13 start against the Jets as he completed 20 of 25 passes for 242 yards and two touchdowns in a 33-18 triumph.

Hurts started Philadelphia’s first 12 games and has passed for 2,435 yards, 13 touchdowns and eight interceptions. He also has 695 yards and eight scores on the ground.

“It’s been a day-by-day thing,” Hurts said of his ankle. “Coming in here every day, doing everything in my power to make myself available for my team. That’s been my mindset, that’s still my mindset. Trying to be available for the team.”

Running back Miles Sanders (ankle) was a limited participant. Sanders had a season-high 120 yards against the Jets and has 578 for the season.
