Jake Paul loses first fight via split decision to Tommy Fury

Entering Sunday’s fight against Tommy Fury, Jake Paul had never lost a battle. While a 6-0 record may not show a lot of history in Paul’s brief boxing career to this point, it’s a lot better than the alternative.

After facing Fury, the ‘Problem Child’ can no longer say he has a perfect record. Fury won in what was ruled a split decision over Paul.

Of course, there was plenty of smack talk leading up to the fight, with both boxers stating their intent to knock the other out. But ultimately, fans tuning in to ESPN+ didn’t get to see either fighter hit the deck.

What they did get to see was a hard-fought battle between both big-name fighters in which fans from both sides would tell you their preferred boxer won the match.

After the match was decided, Fury delivered a passionate post-fight speech, where he said he’d be open to a rematch with Paul if both parties agreed.

While we didn’t see any knockouts today, perhaps spectators can expect different results should the two square up again later down the line.
