Jacksonville Jaguars’ James Robinson (heel) to be questionable vs. Colts

Jacksonville Jaguars running back James Robinson will be listed as questionable for this weekend’s game against the Indianapolis Colts, coach Urban Meyer announced Friday.

Robinson did not participate in practice on Wednesday before being limited in the following day’s session. He is attempting to work his way back from a heel injury that kept him out of Jacksonville’s 9-6 win over the Buffalo Bills last Sunday.

Meyer noted veteran running back Carlos Hyde is expected to play a role on Sunday when the Jaguars (2-6) meet the Colts (4-5) in Indianapolis.

“We’re going to mix in Carlos for sure,” Meyer said of Hyde, who rushed 21 times for 67 yards last week.

Hyde, 31, has 54 carries for 207 rushing yards to go along with nine catches for 60 yards this season.

Robinson, 23, leads the team in carries (88), rushing yards (482) and rushing touchdowns (five). He also has 18 catches for 133 yards in seven games.

Meyer confirmed rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence is expected to play on Sunday. Lawrence is working his way past an ankle injury he sustained versus the Bills.

On the season, Lawrence has completed 59.5 percent of his passes for 1,821 yards with eight touchdowns against nine interceptions. He was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
