After watching the following video, you will have a hard time understanding why Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt had to initially walk-on at Wisconsin after receiving very little interest around the nation.
The reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year was every bit as dominating in high school as he has been in the NFL.

Watt attended Pewaukee High School In Wisconsin and was selected first-team all-state as a senior. However, the best defensive player in the NFL drew little interesting on the recruiting circuit. Both Scout.com and Rivals.com gave him two of a possible five stars.
Lack of elite competition or not, that video is incredible.
