The Houston Dynamo signed midfielder Adalberto “Coco” Carrasquilla on loan from Spain’s FC Cartagena on Thursday.

The 22-year-old joined the La Liga 2 side in 2019 after making his pro debut with Tauro FC in his native Panama in 2018.

“Adalberto is a young player who has excellent technical ability in possession, as well as the creativity to generate opportunities for his teammates and for himself,” Dynamo head coach Tab Ramos said in a news release. “Although there were several teams looking to add him, we are happy that he chose to be in Houston with our club.”

The Dynamo also announced defender Jose Bizama, 27, was heading to the USL Championship side Charlotte Independence. Bizama has appeared in 14 games (11 starts) with Houston since 2019, registering one assist.
