Houston Astros acquire Yimi Garcia from Miami Marlins

The Miami Marlins dealt right-handed pitcher Yimi Garcia to the Houston Astros on Wednesday in exchange for outfielder prospect Bryan De La Cruz and right-hander Austin Pruitt.

Garcia, 30, has recorded a 3.47 ERA in 39 appearances out of the bullpen for Miami this year. He has a 3-7 record and 15 saves with 35 strikeouts in 36 1/3 innings.

Garcia spent his first five MLB seasons with the Los Angeles Dodgers before joining Miami in 2020. In seven seasons he has an 11-18 record and a 3.41 ERA with 220 strikeouts over 211 innings.

Pruitt, 31, is 0-1 with a 6.75 ERA over two games this year for Houston. Before that, he played for the Tampa Bay Rays from 2017-19. He has a lifetime ERA of 4.89 with five saves and a 12-9 record in 69 career appearances.

De La Cruz, 24, is batting .324 with 12 home runs and 50 RBIs in 66 games for Triple-A Sugar Land. He has yet to make his major league debut.
