Former Las Vegas Raiders star receiver Henry Ruggs is getting most of the media’s attention following the early Tuesday morning crash just off the Strip that left a 23-year-old woman dead.

Ruggs, 22, was almost immediately charged with a DUI resulting in death, which carries up to two decades in prison. Indications are that he was driving two times the legal alcohol limit and was speeding to the tune of 156 miles-per-hour immediately ahead of the crash.

However, there’s a real victim here. Her name is Tina Tintor. She was just 23 years old and had her whole life ahead of her.

One day after he family showed up for Henry Ruggs’ first court appearance in Vegas, they released a statement through their attorney. It’s absolutely crushing.

“Tina’s tragic loss has devastated her family beyond a grief they could ever comprehend. Family was everything to Tina, and she was the light of her parent’s life,” the statement read. “Tina lived in Las Vegas since she was a baby. She loved her three-year-old Golden Retriever, Max, who passed alongside her Tuesday morning. The Tintor family appreciates privacy as they mourn. May Tina rest in peace.”

Ever since she was identified as the victim in this senseless act, we’ve seen photos of Tintor and her puppy posted throughout social media. It brings a human element to a story that has, in the opinion of some, focused too much on Henry Ruggs and not enough on this individual he’s responsible for killing.

Our thoughts obviously go out to everyone impacted by this tragic event. May time somehow find a way to heal them as much as possible.
