One day after giving up six runs in less than two innings of work, Chicago Cubs right-hander Adbert Alzolay was placed on the 10-day injured list with a left hamstring strain.
The Cubs recalled right-hander Trevor Megill from Triple-A Iowa.
All six runs charged to Alzolay in the second inning Friday came as the Miami Marline scored 11 times in the frame to tie a franchise record. The 26-year-old Alzolay leads the major leagues with 13 losses to four victories in 22 appearances) 21 starts and has a 5.16 ERA.
In his third season with the Cubs, Alzolay is 6-15 lifetime in 31 appearances (27 starts) and has a 5.01 ERA.
Megill, 27, made his major league debut earlier this season and had a 13.50 ERA in 12 outings with the Cubs.
