The Green Bay Packers are set to sign veteran quarterback Blake Bortles, ESPN and NFL Network reported Wednesday.

Bortles is in Green Bay on Wednesday to sign the contract, a one-year deal, per ESPN.

With the team’s Aaron Rodgers situation, the addition of Bortles ensures the Packers will have at least two quarterbacks participating in offseason workouts. The other is 2020 first-round draft pick Jordan Love. In-person workouts begin Monday in Green Bay.

Bortles last saw action in 2019 in three games with the Los Angeles Rams. He completed one of two passes for 3 yards.

Bortles was the third overall draft pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2014. He started 73 of 75 games played between 2014-18 and passed for 17,646 yards, 103 touchdowns and 75 interceptions.

Rodgers has been mum about whether he intends to take part in voluntary OTAs.

Rodgers reportedly has told some members of the organization that he doesn’t want to play for the Packers anymore.

Among Rodgers’ reported beefs with the team are the Packers’ selection of Love with their first-round pick in 2020 instead of a player who could make an instant contribution and their failure to come to terms on a contract extension with him.
