Green Bay Packers Pro Bowl running back Aaron Jones returned from a two-game absence last week against the Detroit Lions, going for just 18 yards on five attempts.

It’s clear that Jones was not near 100% in the game after dealing with a hamstring injury earlier in the season.

He’s now going to be inactive for Monday night’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders, per multiple media reports.

This is a pretty big blow for a Packers team that ranks 31st in the NFL in rushing at 74.5 yards per game. They are also averaging a mere 3.3 yards per rush.

With Jones sidelined once again, A.J. Dillon will receive a bulk of the duties in the backfield behind young quarterback Jordan Love. Dillon is averaging just 2.7 yards per rush on the campaign. It’s not necessarily an ideal scenario.

Aaron Jones career stats: 5,343 rushing yards, 1,925 receiving yards, 7,268 total yards, 62 TD

Last season saw Jones register north of 1,500 total yards and seven touchdowns for Green Bay. It represented his fourth consecutive season with at least 1,190 total yards. Prior to getting injured in Week 1, he had tallied 127 total yards and two touchdowns against the Chicago Bears.

The good news here for Green Bay is that Vegas ranks 25th in the NFL stopping the run at 134.3 yards per game. Its offense is also dead last running the ball heading into Week 5’s Monday Night Football matchup in Sin City.
