Giants minor league team to honor Madison Bumgarner’s rodeo skills

A pretty darn hilarious story broke earlier this week noting that Arizona Diamondbacks star Madison Bumgarner has been moonlighting as a rodeo champion while going by the alias Mason Saunders.

It’s one of those stories you think is made for The Onion. But it’s real. And it’s absolutely awesome.

The Single-A affiliate for Bumgarner’s former San Francisco Giants team is now looking to cash in on it.

The San Jose Giants will host a “Mason Saunders Night” on June 5. Their press release announcing the event is almost too good to be true.

“It’s time to saddle up at Excite Ballpark. The first Friday night of summer for the San Jose Giants will be a roping good time.”

I am sure they did not come up with this in the spur of the moment. I’m just wondering whether ranch dressin’ and long little doggies will be the food of choice in San Jose.

Cowboy up!
