Giants GM Dave Gettleman will begin treatment for lymphoma

On Monday, New York Giants general manager Dave Gettleman announced he will soon begin treatment for lymphoma.

In a statement released from Gettleman, the 67-year-old announced doctors discovered the lymphoma during an annual physical.

“Over the past week, I have undergone more testing to determine the course of treatment, which is scheduled to start in the very near future,” Gettleman said, via the statement. “The doctor’s outlook for the treatment and the prognosis is positive, and so am I.”

Formerly the general manager of the Carolina Panthers, he took over as New York’s general manager in December.

According to the statement, Gettleman plans to work as much as the doctors allow during the treatment process.
