Shortstop Brandon Crawford, the San Francisco Giants’ leader in home runs and RBIs this season, left Friday night’s game in St. Louis in the top of the eighth inning with an apparent leg injury.

He appeared to grab his hamstring muscle during his at-bat, then departed after hitting a single to right field. It was his only hit in four at-bats. Chadwick Tromp came in to pinch run.

Crawford, who is in his 11th major league season, all with the Giants, has 18 home runs and 58 RBIs. He is hitting .289, easily higher than his career average of .252. He is on pace to surpass his single-season high of 21 home runs, which he hit in 2015.
