George Kittle injury update: Knee reportedly ‘is good’

The San Francisco 49ers can breathe deep when it comes to the George Kittle injury, as the tight end’s knee reportedly “is good” following an MRI Friday.

Kittle took a shot to the knee during the first quarter of Thursday night’s win over Arizona but did come back to play, and played extremely well catching an incredible touchdown shortly after the injury. Unfortunately, the knee started to bother him more and more, and he sat out the fourth quarter.

One of the best players at any position in the league, Kittle is a key cog in San Francisco’s offense. So far this season, he has caught 46 passes for 541 yards and two touchdowns. Kittle is also a huge part of San Francisco’s run game. So the fact that he is expected to be fine going forward is absolutely a big win for this team.

The 49ers got other, more disappointing news concerning linebacker Kwon Alexander, however, who will miss the rest of the season with a torn pectoral muscle.
