One of the highest drafted linebackers in recent NFL history is looking to make a comeback after being away from the game for the past three seasons.
Rolando McClain told Matt Zenitz of AL.com that he would like to get back on the football field.
“Every time I got in my linebacker position, it was bone on bone grind,” McClain said. “Not only do I feel good, I’m recovered and I’m rested. I feel better now because I know I’ll be playing with two legs.”
McClain, 29, dealt with a bevy of off-field incidents after the Oakland Raiders made him the eighth overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft.
He played just three seasons with Oakland before spending two years with the Dallas Cowboys.
The former Alabama standout started 61 games in five seasons, recording 412 tackles and four interceptions.
It’s not yet known what type of interest McClain will have around the NFL. It’s also not known whether he faces suspension from the league.
