The New York Giants recently benched offensive tackle Ereck Flowers, and now they’ll reportedly either trade him or release him, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Giants will release OT Ereck Flowers if he is not traded by 4 p.m. Tuesday, per source.

Flowers has struggled to give the Giants any semblance of competent play ever since being selected No. 9 overall in 2015 out of Miami (FL).
As noted by ESPN’s Dan Graziano, the trade market for his services likely will be very limited. However, he is just 24, and it’s possible he just needs a fresh start.
Over the course of his four-year career, he’s appeared in 51 games, starting 48. For his first three seasons he played left tackle (poorly), and this year before being benched in favor of Chad Wheeler, he manned the right tackle spot.
