Former New England Patriots safety Patrick Chung was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Quincy, Mass., following his arrest on domestic violence and vandalism charges.
Chung, 34, was arrested Monday in Milton, Mass., for alleged assault and battery of a family or household member. He also is accused of vandalizing personal property.
He retired in March after 11 NFL seasons — 10 of them with the Patriots — in which he won three Super Bowl championships. He last played in 2019, opting out in 2020 because of COVID-19.
Chung was charged in 2019 with felony possession of cocaine in New Hampshire. In January 2020, the charge was conditionally dismissed, provided Chung met a number of conditions. Among them was he had to have good behavior for two years, meaning no crimes (felony or misdemeanor) or major motor vehicle offenses.
In his career, Chung played in 153 games, 141 of them with the Patriots and the rest with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2013 — a season squeezed between two stints in New England. He had 778 career tackles, 11 interceptions, a touchdown, 4.5 sacks and 57 passes defended.
