Former FBI Director Clears NFL of Wrongdoing in Ray Rice Case

The “independent entity” that the National Football League selected to overlook its handling of the Ray Rice situation has shockingly cleared the NFL of any wrongdoing regarding its handling of the scandal.

In an extensive report by Robert Mueller, there was no evidence that anyone in the NFL saw the Rice casino elevator incident prior to it being released by TMZ, which set in motion an indefinite suspension of the former Baltimore Ravens and accusations that the league itself covered up details of the domestic violence case.

However, the Mueller Report did go on to question the NFL’s investigation of the case.

We concluded there was substantial information about the incident – even without the in-elevator video – indicating the need for a more thorough investigation. The NFL should have done more with the information it had, and should have taken additional steps to obtain all available information about the February 15 incident.

That amounts to a slap on the wrist for Roger Goodell and company.

Here’s the full report.
