The 2022 Farmers Insurance Open is shifting dates to accommodate CBS Sports’ coverage of the NFL playoffs.

The PGA Tour announced Tuesday that the tournament will abandon its traditional Thursday through Sunday format and be played instead Wednesday through Saturday. The Farmers will be held Jan. 26-29 at Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego.

Golf Channel will air the first two rounds on Wednesday and Thursday. The final two rounds will be telecast Friday and Saturday on CBS.

The move was made because of CBS’ Sunday conflict with NFL programming. The network is set to broadcast the AFC Championship game at 3:05 p.m. ET on Sunday, Jan. 30.

“We appreciate Farmers Insurance’s collaboration and innovative thinking with this shift in competition days,” PGA Tour president Tyler Dennis said in a statement. “The PGA Tour’s first network event of 2022 wrapping up on Saturday, combined with football games the following day, will create an action-packed weekend for sports fans.”

Patrick Reed is the defending champion.
