If you haven’t drafted your fantasy football team(s) yet, you’re likely spending the majority of your time looking for sleepers and breakout candidates for the 2014 NFL season. For years, it seemed players would really “take off” during their third year in the league, but times appear to be changing. Second-year players have made quite a bit of noise in the league the past few years, so which ones have the most value heading in to 2014? Zac Stacy, Running Back, St. Louis Rams Oh Kembrell. The guy everyone fantasy owner was trying to claim as their “great fantasy mind” pick last year. The sexy story of an undrafted free agent, becoming an elite young receiver getting oodles of touchdowns from Tom Brady. The wide out saw plenty of targets during the first half of the season, but didn’t really produce numbers typical of a Patriots pass catcher (that guy was Julian Edelman). Thompkins is up the totem-pole on the depth chart, but Patriots receivers always seem to be worth stashing. Caution the inconsistency, but if Brady and Thompkins were to generate some chemistry early this season, the second-year receiver could be a good flex option for any fantasy team.
