Falcons’ Matt Ryan misses practice again

It’ increasingly likely that the one-win Atlanta Falcons will be without franchise quarterback Matt Ryan for Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks.

Ryan (high-ankle sprain) missed practice once again on Thursday.

Missing practice this late in the week seems to suggest that Ryan will not be on the field in Atlanta against a 5-2 Seahawks squad.

This means that veteran journeyman Matt Schaub will start his first game as a member of the Falcons in 5,131 days.

That will be the largest gap between starts for one team in NFL history, besting the 3,647 days in between Chris Chandler starts for the Rams.

As it relates to Ryan, this will be the first regular-season start he’s missed since the quarterback’s sophomore campaign back in 2009.
