Evil Geniuses announced Damien “maLeK” Marcel as the head coach of their Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team on Friday.

The 35-year-old Frenchman will replace Damian “daps” Steele as head coach of a team in transition. daps, 28, spent the last six months with Evil Geniuses.

“Hey EG. I’m very excited to announce that I will take over as the head coach of the CS:GO roster for next season,” maLeK said in a video posted by Evil Geniuses on Twitter.

Evil Geniuses recently parted ways with Owen “oBo” Schlatter, Peter “stanislaw” Jarguz and Michal “MICHU” Muller.

Bulgarian Tsvetelin “CeRq” Dimitrov and American Vincent “Brehze” Cayonte are the only members on the roster, although a report from 1pv.fr has EG looking to add Timothy “autimatic” Ta and Jake “Stewie2K” Yip.

autimatic, a 25-year-old American, hasn’t played competitive CS:GO since he was with Gen.G Esports. His contract was bought out by T1 in February so he could join their Valorant team.

Stewie2K, an American who turns 24 next month, spent the past three years with Team Liquid. He also has had stints with Cloud9, SK Gaming and MIBR.
