Lucas “Bubzkji” Andersen has left Astralis’ Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team and is now a free agent.

The organization announced Monday that the team and player agreed to terminate his contract.

The 23-year-old Dane signed with Astralis in July 2020 after a seven-month stretch with MAD Lions but never found his footing with the team.

“It never turned out to what we all hoped it would and I am glad we have found a solution giving Lucas free hands to find the best possible solution for his future,” said Kasper Hvidt, Astralis’ director of sports. “He has always delivered when called upon and we owe Lucas a big thank you and best of luck with his future endeavors. He will always be a highly valued part of our history.”

He was part of a team that won the ESL Pro League Season 12 and DreamHack Masters Winter 2020 Europe, but he spent much of his time with the organization as the sixth man on the roster.

Bubzkji thanked the organization on Twitter.

“Just a big thanks to everyone in Astralis i’ve played with,” he wrote. “It’s been an absolute honour to have played alongside all of you. I wish you guys all the best.”

In a news release, Astralis said Bubzkli would be joining Tv2 in Denmark as an expert commentator. He is free to join another organization should he want to resume his playing career.

Astralis’ all-Danish roster now consists of Andreas “Xyp9x” Hojsleth, Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander, Philip “Lucky” Ewald, Kristian “k0nfig” Wienecke , Benjamin “blameF” Bremer and coach Alexander “ave” Holdt.
