Following Monday night’s game, the Detroit Lions and New York Giants are done with each other in 2017. But Lions tight end Eric Ebron and Giants safety Landon Collins are maintaining a rivalry.
Following the game, Ebron had some complimentary words for Collins’ performance. But when he was asked why he didn’t celebrate after catching a touchdown pass, Ebron had some words for Collins that were far from complimentary.
“I was pissed off,” Ebron said, via Justin Rogers of The Detroit News. “I was pissed off at that little punk of a safety they’ve got over there.”
Ebron clarified that he was upset with a hit that Collins had previously leveled him with.
Collins heard Ebron’s words. When he did, the safety decided to respond to Ebron’s comments.
Be a bully…still zero catches on me between those lines💯 https://t.co/ciYSx55HXh

Assuming these two remain on their current teams, the rivalry will have to wait a few years to be renewed. The Giants are pegged to face the NFC South in 2018, while the Lions will deal with the NFC West. So, unless the two teams finish in the same place in their respective divisions or square off in the playoffs, Ebron and Collins won’t see each other until 2019.
If nothing else, this will be something to remember when that does come around.
